Welcome to The Shamrock: John F. Kennedy High's student-run newspaper and online news source!

All of our content – opinions, features, news, photography, and video – is written and produced by our Shamrock staff and various guest columnists. Editorials, columns, and reviews that appear with a byline are solely the opinions of the writer and not necessarily those of the entire staff, adviser, or school administration. Not all of our stories reflect the opinions of all Kennedy High students.

Through our research and reporting, we stress the importance of respect, maturity, and understanding of different points of view, learning experiences, and existing campus cultures. In doing so, we exercise our right – given to us by the First Amendment – to express the thoughts & opinions of not only The Shamrock staff members but in many cases those of the students and faculty on campus. The resulting product stands as a historical record of this moment in time, encapsulated in writing, photography, and video. 

Our goal at The Shamrock is to bring the students, parents, and staff of Kennedy High, as well as the  community of La Palma, the most current, popular, and factual news from our city, state, country, and world. We encourage submissions and letters to the editor at all times, for any reason.
