Boba, also known as bubble tea, is a Tawainese drink with tapioca pearl toppings. Boba has grown increasingly popular over the years, due to it being a fun and sweet drink to enjoy with friends and family. Although we all are quarantined, boba can still be enjoyed and made for a treat and as a fun activity!
To make brown sugar boba milk, you only need four main ingredients: tapioca starch, brown sugar, water, and milk.
To begin, stir 60 grams of water and 40 grams of brown sugar into a pot over medium heat until fully dissolved.
After combined, add a spoonful of tapioca starch and mix until the blend has turned smooth and thick.
After thickened, remove the mixture from the heat and add the rest of the 90 grams of tapioca starch.
Sprinkle the counter with some tapioca starch to begin kneading the dough. Knead the dough until fully blended.
After, roll the dough into small spherical shapes to create the tapioca pearls.
Add the tapioca pearls to a pot of boiling water and stir continuously to make sure the pearls are not sticking to the pot.
After all the tapioca pearls rise to the surface, set a timer for 20 minutes and let the boba cook.
When the time ends, take the tapioca pearls off the heat and let them cook for another 20 minutes.
After the boba is done cooking, strain the water from the pot.
Heat up a pan and add 70 grams of brown sugar. Make sure that the brown sugar isn’t melting, but just warming up.
Next, add the boba and stir the sugar and pearls.
Take a glass and add the boba, rolling the glass to spread the brown sugar all over the cup.
After that, add some ice and milk and you’re done!
Enjoy your delicious boba!
