Over the past month, Filipino-British singer-songwriter Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus known as Beabadoobee has gotten into some controversy. Many videos were spread across the internet insisting that rappers like NBA Youngboy, King Von, and more can sing better than her. Although the videos were sarcastic and meant to be a joke, Beabadoobee did not take this lightly and decided to post on social media about it.

Most videos compare her by showing clips of each artist singing, usually labeling Beabadoobee as the “artist who can’t sing.”

Upon the rising videos, Beabadoobee went on social media where she uploaded a video addressing the situation.

“I’ve never seen the actual videos, but to all the men commenting ‘artists who can sing vs artists who can't sing.’ Just tell me you don’t get any girls. Just tell me your mother didn’t love you. You might as well just say it,” Beabadoobee said.

Beabadoobee continued about how she gets more women than men in her comment section. In addition to that, she started informing viewers about having more money than everybody in her comments.

“It’s sickening to hear her talk brag and spread toxicity online. It’s okay to get upset over the hate, but don’t go around ranting about how you’re better than everybody else because you have more money than them,” senior Madina Ghafoori said.

Later on, Beabadoobee got back on social media to do an apology video. However, in the video, she makes excuses trying to justify her actions, not apologizing. This led to more hate due to people thinking she’s trying to apologize without apologizing.

What was meant to be a joke  quickly took a turn for the worse. Beabadoobee has yet to comment on the situation again since her last video.
