There are many clubs at Kennedy High and for the 2024-25 school year there are three new clubs that joined Kennedy High: Each One,Teach One, Girl’s Athletic Association, and Ping Pong Club.
Each One, Teach One is a club about community service to help out those in need. They plan out events to go to different places like schools in need of supplies or Kenya. They are currently planning a trip to visit Kenya, Africa during Spring Break.
“We work with the Boys & Girl’s Club and Salvation Army to provide clothing, backpacks, and shoes,” the club President said. “We believe that education is also the way out of poverty.”
Ping Pong Club is a new club that is trying to provide a space for people to relax, have fun and play ping pong.
“The purpose of the Ping Pong Club is to teach ping pong to students no matter their experience or not” Historian Topher Cornell said. “It’s also about having fun.”
Ping Pong Club has had a pretty eventful year so far, they’ve been growing very rapidly and have plans to have lots of events such as a tournament, socials, and game nights.
Girls Athletic Association is a club that’s open to anyone interested in sports and promoting Kennedy High’s athletes. Their goal is to promote a community that celebrates athletes and empowers young women to achieve what they are planning to do.
In addition to the three new clubs there are three clubs that are being revamped: Red Cross Club, Model United Nations, and Game Room.
Red Cross club is a returning club that presents opportunities to meet future leaders of the medical field. The club has a goal for the year to hold socials with other Red Cross members around Orange County and to become more involved in the community.
Model United Nations (MUN) is a returning club that discusses world issues and solutions, engaging in debate and discussion. MUN has weekly meetings during lunch and sometimes after school. MUN has a goal to find more MUN conferences to join.
Game Room used to be Chess Club but they are expanding into other games for example card and arcade games.
