Disneyland, also known as “the happiest place on earth," has been getting a lot of attention recently. They are known for their family friendly parks, but that has been changing. Another very known park also located in Buena Park is Knott's Berry Farm, “California's Best Theme Park.” Knott's had problems whether it was online or offline. Disney overall has begun to change and not for the best.
On July 9, 2021, at Knott's Berry Farm one of the most known incidents happened which was a drive-by shooting that ended with two people shot. Many Knott’s visitors have begun to dislike the park due to locals getting out of control whether it's resisting arrests or causing fights. Most of these locals are now starting to visit Disneyland more often.
“Disneyland is no longer worth it. My kids and I agree, the magic is officially gone,” Tripadviser user sarahsW6790IX said.
Another incident at Knott's occurred July 17, 2021 with a man climbing a 250 feet tower attraction called “Supreme Scream”. Officials were called to help bring him down. This led guests who were there to be concerned, and almost all rides were closed and evacuated. Many were confused as to how no one noticed him going up until he had reached the top of the ride.
Guests who have been attending Disneyland are beginning to get frustrated with the way adults are starting to act. The ride “It’s A Small World” turned disturbing for many. Videos that have been posted have been getting a lot of attention, with a man who was participating in the ride left many shocked. While on the ride, the young man decided to take off all his clothes leaving him only in his underwear walking around the animatronic dolls due to being intoxicated.
“I’ve always loved Disneyland growing up and it sucks seeing the magic go away.” sophomore Cynthia Gutierrez said.
A Disneyland one day ticket is $104 to enter one park, for both parks it will be $65 extra. The cheapest annual pass the park offers is just under $500. The inspire key which comes with many perks costs $1,649. Over the past couple of months, it has been getting worse leaving many people disappointed. Disneyland’s dress code requires clothing with any inappropriate material and exposes excessive skin may not be worn. There have been several incidents where the dress code was violated leading to guests getting removed from the park. When not following the dress codes, people are to be removed but some resist causing a bigger scene.
“When I heard everything that had been happening there I was shocked” parent of Kennedy High student Maria Velazquez said.
Whether it's about prices being too high, guest dressing inappropriate, or even being intoxicated there always seems to be something going on with Disneyland.
