2020 was supposed to be a year full of unforgettable performances and entertainment that many have been waiting for. However, with a global pandemic affecting the world, there have been many cancellations and postponements of events throughout the music industry, leaving fans saddened and disappointed.
Here are some major music events that have been canceled or rescheduled due to the COVID-19 outbreak:
Camilla Cabeo had to postpone her Romance tour.
Harry Styles’ Love On Love tour of the U.K. and Europe has been pushed back to February 2021.
BTS rescheduled their entire world tour.
Miami’s electronic and alternative festival lll Points was announced to be postponed to Fall 2020.
Justin Bieber has postponed his 2020 Changes Tour, which was originally planned to be on May 14 - Sept. 26.
Niall Horan announced the postponement of his world tour until further notice.
Bad Bunny’s shows in Puerto Rico, which were set to take place on May 11 and 12, have now been rescheduled for Oct. 30 and 31.
Bon Jovi has canceled their 2020 North American tour.
Coachella 2020 has been rescheduled for Oct. 9-18.
Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC 2020) has been rescheduled for Oct. 2-4.
Fall Out Boy, Green Day, and Weezer are in the works of rescheduling the Europe leg of their Hella Mega tour for next summer. (Editor's Note: No official word on whether they will postpone or cancel U.S. dates.)
My Chemical Romance has decided to postpone the Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and Ireland portions of their comeback tour until next year.
The Killers have announced that the United Kingdom and Ireland dates for their Imploading the Mirage tour is to be rescheduled for next year.
While the pandemic has certainly put a damper on music lovers’ summer plans, we can all look forward to more live music in 2021.
